Auckland FC is proud to announce three of our scholarship players signing on with the A-League squad for this season.
Bailey Ferguson, Van Fitzharris and Isa Prins joined Auckland FC this past season and impressed throughout our Reserve, OFC Pro League and A-League squads and will look to build on their impact with the A-League squad this upcoming season.
Bailey Ferguson, 18, is an exciting forward from Australia who found success with the OFC squad, scoring 3 goals in 6 games as well as making his A-League debut in the club’s 5-0 win away at Wellington.
Van Fitzharris, 18, joined the reserves from Tauranga City during last season’s National League campaign and played throughout all 3 AFC squads this season. The NZ-U17 player made his A-League debut against Melbourne Victory, his second-half cameo earning him POTM honours.
Isa Prins, 20, joined at the start of 2026 from Wellington Olympic, appearing for the reserves while playing a frequent part in the OFC Pro League campaign. Isa is an exciting talent who was awarded the Jack Batty Cup, the Player of the Match award for the Chatham Cup, after lifting the trophy with Wellington Olympic in 2025. Isa will be one to watch as he aims to make his A-League debut this upcoming season.
The promotions of these three young talents are a testament to the talent development pathway at Auckland FC, with players getting a chance to develop in a professional environment while still getting regular football to aid them in their development.
Auckland FC’s Director of Football, Terry McFlynn, highlighted the youngsters who will look to make a real impact in the A-League squad this upcoming season.
“We’re really excited about these young lads, they’ve showed us a lot during this past season, and we think they can really contribute to the A-League for us next season.”
