What is the FRG programme?
Auckland FC is proud to have created its inaugural Fan Representative Group (FRG). The FRG is designed to provide fans with a direct line into the club to share feedback, ideas, and for the club to keep fans updated and consult on any changes.
Ellerslie FC Chairman Tim Adams was elected Chair of the FRG. As chair, Tim will also take part in the A-Leagues FRG alongside members from the 12 other clubs. The A-Leagues FRG is chaired by Commissioner of the A-Leagues Nick Garcia.
Similar to the club’s FRG, the A-Leagues FRG provides fans with the chance to debate and discuss the running of the league and provide input on any proposed changes.
The FRG is your way to shape the future of Auckland FC. If you have any feedback, you are keen to share about the running of the club and have it discussed at the next FRG meetings, please fill in the form here.
OUR FRG Members
Tim Adams
Tim has been involved with his local club since 1991 and has been on the board since 2005 – a season ticket holder for the Football Kings, NZ Knights and now Auckland FC, he has experienced highs and lows of Auckland’s history with professional football.
“I have been super impressed with the way Auckland FC has been setup, they have a real commitment to their fans and to the community they serve, so I’m excited to have the chance to support them to continue to improve their match day experience.
Anna Henwood
Anna Henwood is a proud Founding Member of AFC and can be seen cheering on the team alongside her husband and two football-mad sons, who both play for Hibiscus Coast AFC. As the CEO of Stickybeak, Anna understands the power of engagement and community, values that extend to her passion for sport. A strong advocate for children’s participation in physical activity, she believes in the positive impact it has on young people’s development. Her love for sport goes beyond football, and she is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive sporting culture for future generations.
Rochelle Lee-Warren
Rochelle is the Secretary and Board Member of Birkenhead United Football club on the sunny North Shore. Her engagement with AKL FC started last year when she helped spread the word at grass roots level of an exciting new A league team. She is also a Community Engagement advisor for the local Member of Parliament. Football is a big part of the family life including playing , coaching, committees and of course the AKL FC games but they wouldn’t have it any other way!
Gavin Panter
Since arriving in NZ in Feb 2024, Gavin has been a passionate Auckland FC supporter, joining as a founding member. Working in railway transport has meant global jobs and along with the wife and two boys (12 & 15), is pleased to now call the North Shore of Auckland home. Initial football in New Zealand has been watching Birkenhead FC and will no doubt continue.
Having been involved with semi-professional football in the UK at both a playing and volunteering level for many years, the importance of making any club resonate within its community is key and being able to put back into the game at fan level is a great alternative to playing.
Although Desborough Town may be his home town club, it’s true that all clubs need to accommodate their fans and with finances stretched, ensure great value for money as well as an experience that caters for families, along with those that are more vociferous, bringing a memorable matchday experience for all.
Jonno Ross
Jonno is a passionate football fan who has been involved in football since he was a young lad. He played at the top age group levels for club and country until a car accident left him wheelchair bound in 2011. Since then, Jonno has continued to be highly involved in the football community. He was the Mt Albert Ponsonby first team manager from 2018 – 2024, writes as a volunteer for Friends of Football, and is a founding member of Auckland FC’s active supporters group, The Port. He attends every game with his father and brother in law.
What he loves most about the football, is that it’s more than ‘just a game’. It brings people together and creates bonds with people who you would have never met if it weren’t for the beautiful game.
Jon Culley
Founding season ticket member along with my wife and 2 boys up in Bay 53. I’m an IT Project manager in my day to day life. Emigrated to NZ from UK back in 2007 where I was an Arsenal season ticket holder, ran and played in a Sunday football team in the West Fulham league. Since coming to NZ I’ve played for Eastern Suburbs and Fencibles teams and coached teams from 5th grade up to U17. Currently trying to get my reffing accreditation. Football is a constant topic of conversation in our household as my youngest plays for Fencibles and attends various academies in East Auckland.
Mohammed Imran
Carrying the Fijian passion for football since migrating here in 1987. I have been fortunate to be able to work across quite a variety of football roles since – President of the NZ Fiji Football Association for over 14 years to develop and promote football in our community that led to the formation of Mangere United FC in 2000 winning promotion from Div 3 to Premier. During this time, I served for ten years on the Board of Soccer 2 that later became AFF and now NRF and served on the Northern League Competitions Board.
I watch the Auckland FC games with my family and friends. My reason for getting involved is that we are given one chance to make football attractive in our region. We must do everything to make it a success, especially the stigma of the Kingz days still around. I would also like to see Auckland FC be that diverse, inclusive club for all our minority communities especially from the Pacific. I believe these communities have a lot to offer the club.
