In 2024, a group of passionate football fans had an ambitious idea: to launch a new football club for Auckland. One that would inspire fans, provide opportunities to players, and take the city to the A-Leagues.
That’s when Auckland FC was founded. Proudly backed by Bill Foley and his global sports consortium, Auckland FC arrived on the scene as football was gaining huge momentum in New Zealand as one of the fastest growing sports, with more than 40,000 Kiwis playing across clubs in Auckland.
Led by Club CEO Nick Becker and head coach Steve Corica, Auckland FC places Aotearoa’s largest city and Oceania’s fifth largest city firmly on the elite professional football map.
