Meet Morris,
Morris is the definition of longevity and community service. For the past 29 years, he has volunteered his time to support the running of Birkenhead United AFC.
If there is a job to be done, Morris does it, usually supported by his mate and fellow club member Jeb. Ahead of each match day, Morris is up early putting out the cones and flags, organising the boot room and making sure everything is just so ahead of kick-off.
Originally a big rugby fan, it was his son that got him into football. He initially just started coming along to show some support but soon enough found himself helping behind the scenes. A generation on and he is still going, this time helping out while his two grandsons run out for Birkenhead.
“I just do it to keep myself busy really, and because I love the club. There are a lot of good people here doing good things for the community, and it feels great to be a part of that,’ says Morris.
