Five Auckland FC Players Named In All Whites Squad, Five More in U20s New Zealand Side

Auckland FC is proud to announce that five of our players have been selected for the upcoming All Whites squad, reinforcing the club’s growing contribution to New Zealand football at the highest level.

Callan Elliot, Tommy Smith, Nando Pijnaker, Francis de Vries and Alex Paulsen have all earned national team call-ups ahead of the next international window.

It’s an especially exciting moment for right back Callan Elliot, who returns to the All Whites squad for the first time since June 2023. “He has made significant contributions to the team this season, and the call-up is well deserved,” said Terry McFlynn, Auckland FC Director of Football.

“Callan has worked incredibly hard, and it’s fantastic to see him back in the All Whites squad.

Defenders Tommy Smith, Nando Pijnaker and Francis de Vries continue to be recognised for their strong defensive efforts at Auckland FC in the national team. Goalkeeper Alex Paulsen, one of the most exciting young shot-stoppers in the A-League, rounds out the quintet.

In addition to the All Whites representatives, five Auckland FC players have also been named in the New Zealand U-20 squad: Codey Phoenix, James Mitchell, Adama Coulibaly, Finn McKenlay and Oliver Middleton.

These selections are a testament to the strength of our Talent Development Pathway and the quality of young talent coming through the ranks at Auckland FC.

The Talent Development Centre was launched late last year with 18 Talent Development Pathway clubs across Northern and WAIBOP regions involved. The first Talent Identification Camp happened in April where young talent was identified and will be involved in training and coaching opportunities with our Reserves and first team coaching outfit.

We also want to acknowledge the junior clubs who have helped shape the players into who they are today.

“We’re incredibly proud to see ten of our own players represent New Zealand on the international stage” said Terry McFlynn, Auckland FC Director of Football.
