ANZ is proud to announce an expanded partnership with Auckland FC, becoming the club’s major sponsor and strategic partner as it enters its second season in the A-League.
Having supported AFC since day one, ANZ’s elevated commitment reflects a shared vision with the club: to build pride in New Zealand’s largest city and grow the game from grassroots to elite levels.
As part of the new agreement, the ANZ logo will feature prominently on the front of the men’s and women’s team kits. Beyond branding, ANZ will play a pivotal role in advancing the women’s game, supporting youth pathways, community initiatives, and enhancing match-day experiences for families and young fans.
ANZ NZ Chief Executive Antonia Watson said: Auckland FC has already made a remarkable impact on the city in its debut season.
“With Auckland being New Zealand’s most diverse city, the unifying power of football was clear from day one. From hosting tailgate parties that celebrated our many cultures to lifting the Premier’s Plate, AFC’s first season was nothing short of inspiring.”
At ANZ, we share Auckland FC’s vision of building pride in our city and growing the game from grassroots to elite. We’re proud to stand alongside the club as they continue to inspire the next generation and bring Aucklanders together through football,” Ms Watson said.
Auckland FC CEO Nick Becker says the strengthened partnership with ANZ is a natural evolution, built on a foundation of shared purpose.
“From creating our Day 1 jerseys to pressing our record-breaking season onto vinyl, ANZ has been one of our biggest supporters every step of the way. Their support has gone beyond sponsorship, it’s been a true collaboration for the good of Auckland and the game.”
ANZ will also become the major sponsor of AFC’s women’s team, set to launch in 2027 (pending A-League licensing approval). In the lead-up, ANZ is backing a range of initiatives to accelerate the growth of women’s football in New Zealand, including the opening of a Women’s Talent Development Centre in September, which will provide high-performance training and clear pathways for young female athletes.
Additionally, ANZ is supporting the newly launched ANZ U17 National Youth Championship – a national competition that will showcase the best under-17 talent from across the country.
ANZ’s commitment also extends to grassroots programs that use football to teach essential life skills – bringing young fans closer to their heroes and helping set them up for success both on and off the pitch.
Since its debut, Auckland FC has taken the country by storm. A-League viewership on Sky in New Zealand rose by 50%, the team achieved the highest average attendance of any A-League club, and delivered significant economic benefits to Auckland.
