Can black and blue really work with black and yellow? According to Auckland FC and JD Sports, they most certainly can.
Auckland FC has just signed a partnership with the global sports fashion retailer to become the official Sports Retail Partner for the 25/26 season.
The retail giant currently has seven New Zealand stores, four of them in Auckland, and is widely known for its authentic global football partnerships with some of the biggest leagues in the world, including The Premier League, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A, La Liga and beyond.
“We have built an incredible connection with fans over many years,” says Michael Weatherston, JD Sports APAC, Marketing Director.
“We’re proud to continue to invest locally in the A-League, focusing on the newest club in NZ within our key city of Auckland.
“We’re excited to partner with AFC and are impressed with how they have created an instant impact on and off the pitch within their first year. We look forward to engaging with fans and families alike throughout the 2025-26 season.”
Auckland FC CEO, Nick Becker, says the partnership provides the club with opportunities to build closer relationships with its fanbase.
“JD Sports is a brand that gets football and understands its youth audience. This provides us with a very powerful opportunity to work with a like-minded organisation, for the benefit of our fans,” says Becker.
“Whether it is content, activations or member benefits, we’re excited to see what this partnership can bring to life.”
