Auckland FC gets on the board in the Leaders group with a comfortable win against Bula FC.
Auckland FC take all three points against Bula FC on the back of a clinical first half, with Jonty Bidois and Everton O’Leary linking up for both of Auckland’s goals in the 2-0 win.
Auckland FC opened the scoring less than ten minutes in when Everton O’Leary played a low ball into the box. After a slip from a Bula FC defender, the ball fell kindly to Jonty Bidois, who made no mistake tucking away his first professional goal.
Bidois and O’Leary linked up again, with the latter doubling Auckland’s lead with a thumping strike into the roof of the net. The full back added to a dominant first-half display from the Black Knights.
Chances for either side were few and far between in the second half at Eden Park, with the scoreline remaining 2-0 after the full-time whistle.
The win gives Auckland three much-needed points as they now look in good shape to progress to the Semi-Finals with only one match left to play in the leaders’ group.
After two games, Bula FC are without a point in the leaders group and will need to beat South Melbourne on Tuesday to have any hope of progressing automatically to the Semi-Finals.
