Auckland FC enjoyed a knight of celebration yesterday, honouring the team and the players that have brought the club success across the regular season.
Striker Guillermo May scored a brace. The Uruguayan was named club MVP. His nine goals also earned him the inaugural New Balance Golden Boot Award.
Players’ Player of the Season went to Alex Paulsen. The goalkeeper has played every minute of Auckland’s A-League campaign so far and kept 11 clean sheets.
The Members’ Player of the Season went to Francis de Vries, and Goal of the Season to Neyder Moreno for his volley against the Newcastle Jets back in November.
Honourable mentions went to Jake Brimmer for his goal against Central Coast Mariners and Guillermo May for his vs. Melbourne City.
Logan Rogerson was also honoured with a special award for his hat-trick against the Wellington Phoenix. Rogerson was presented with the ball signed by the rest of the team.
With the upcoming finals series and training the next day, it was an early night for most, the focus being the upcoming away leg semi-final, scheduled for the weekend of May 16th.
Tickets for the home semi-final go on general sale from Tuesday at 3pm.
