Auckland FC is giving fans a taste of what’s to come with a family-friendly open day taking place ahead of the Auckland FC Reserve’s Dettol National League game against the Wellington Phoenix.
Starting at 1pm on Saturday, October 4, those in attendance at Fred Taylor Park can expect food trucks, inflatables, garden games, mini-football, and best of all – a chance to meet their favourite Auckland FC first team players.
Meet the Payers
Players will be posing for photos and happy to sign merchandise from approximately 1:30pm until just before the 3pm kick-off.
Most of the first team should be in attendance to support the reserves, giving you plenty of opportunities to meet your heroes and get acquainted with the new signings.
The mini-matchday will aim to replicate, albeit on a smaller scale, the fun and excitement fans can expect at Go Media Stadium when the first team play at home for the first time this season on Saturday, October 25.
Retail goes Retro
If you have been admiring the retro kit from afar this is the sign you’ve been waiting for. The much-coveted retro jersey will be available to buy for the very first time. With only 300 available, the jersey, the source of much speculation and discussion, is expected to sell out fast.
Other items for sale include the new home and away kit as well as the new lifestyle range, featuring hats, jackets, hoodies and puffer vests. Apart from the home and away kit none of this has been made available to buy until now.
Ticketing and Membership
If you haven’t already bought your tickets to the season opener, there will be a chance to redeem yourself as the ticketing and membership team will be onsite. They will be available to assist with purchases, any membership questions and showing off a new group ticketing platform that aims to take the admin out of group ticket purchases.
Youth Derby
Let’s not forget the football! Auckland FC reserves will play Wellington Phoenix in Round 2 of the Dettol National League at 3pm.
