Auckland FC is proud to announce that midfielder Felipe Gallegos has signed a contract extension, committing his future to the club.
The 34-year-old midfielder was one of the club’s inaugural signings back in 2024 and has since gone on to make 55 appearances across two seasons for Auckland FC. Gallegos has been at the heartbeat of the club’s midfield in the past two trophy-winning seasons.
“I’ve loved my time so far in Auckland; I’m happy here, my family is happy here, and I can’t wait to create more memories and get back out on the pitch,” said Gallegos.
Gallegos, who shares both Chilean and Italian citizenship, arrived from top-tier Greek side OFI Crete. Since starting the club’s inaugural game against Brisbane Roar, he has registered five goal involvements, including his volley against Adelaide in April, which won the club’s goal of the season award.
Auckland FC Director of Football, Terry McFlynn, is delighted with the midfielder’s extension, saying:
“Felipe has been instrumental for us; he’s played a big role in the club’s title-winning success and will continue to be a huge influence around the club.”
“We are excited to see him back on the pitch next season.”
The player missed the club’s finals run through a hamstring injury, but will be fit and ready to go for the upcoming season.
