Young guns Jonty Bidois and Ollie Middleton extend their contracts with Auckland FC
Auckland FC is pleased to announce contract extensions for Jonty Bidois and Ollie Middleton.
Bidois, 21, and Middleton, 20, signed scholarship deals with Auckland FC before the club’s inaugural season; the extension means they are now officially signing on as first-team players.
Bidois has made 13 A-League appearances in his two seasons at the club, all coming off the bench. Ten of those appearances came during this past season.
Middleton, an NZ U-20 midfielder, has made just the one A-League appearance for the club, coming off the bench in round five against Brisbane Roar. His season was later cut short after suffering an ACL injury.
Auckland FC’s Director of Football, Terry McFlynn, spoke about extending the two scholarship players.
“We’ve seen these two lads up close over the past two years, and we’re excited about what they can do,” says Flynn.
“Developing local lads is what this club is all about, and we’ll support these boys as they continue to grow.”
Prior to Auckland FC, Middleton played with Talent Development Pathway club Auckland United, and Bidois with Tauranga City AFC. Â
