Congratulations Auckland!

This one is for you, Auckland. Auckland FC claims New Zealand’s first A-League Championship!

Club football in New Zealand has its moment of glory under the brightest lights as Auckland FC becomes the first New Zealand side to win the A-League Championship title.

From the Auckland Kingz in 1999 to being without a professional team since 2007, Auckland football fans have been waiting a long time to celebrate this sport at the highest level.

We are so grateful to be able to share yet another trophy with our fans and the city of Auckland as we continue to build such a special footballing culture in this city.

From semi-final despair last season to fulfilling our goal and winning the big one in front of our fans is a special moment for our club.

Thank you to all the fans who have supported us through thick and thin this season. All the moments in the rain and the tough losses you’ve endured in this up-and-down season make this moment that much sweeter.

Winning the A-League in only our second season is a great achievement, but it’s only the beginning of what we are trying to build here in Auckland, and we can’t wait to make even more footballing memories with you.

Soak it all in and be part of the celebrations tomorrow with a bus parade travelling down Queen Street, starting at Aotea Square at 12pm, down to Takutai Square for a celebration party at 12:15pm.

Afterwards, help us create more history by coming down to the OFC Pro League final at Eden Park as we look to be the first side to win the competition.

Kick-off is at 3pm, and we hope to see you all down there, making the most of this special weekend of football.

Enjoy the moment, Auckland!
