After back-to-back seasons of success, winning the Premiership Plate in year one and the Championship last season, Auckland FC’s remarkable story continues this September with the premiere of FOREVER AUCKLAND FC SEASON 2, an eight-part observational documentary series offering unprecedented access to New Zealand’s newest football powerhouse as they navigate the challenges of life at the top.
Premiering on Sky Sport from 23 September, with two episodes airing weekly at 7.30pm and 8.00pm, the series follows Auckland FC through their highly anticipated second season in Australia’s elite A-League competition.
The series will also premiere on Three from 26 September, with two episodes airing weekly at 1.30pm, and available to stream on ThreeNow from 5.00pm the same day. The series will additionally screen on Sky Open from 17 October at 4.00pm.
After a debut season that captured the imagination of Auckland and stunned the football world, Auckland FC return with expectations higher than ever. In their inaugural campaign, the club achieved the extraordinary, building a team from the ground up and claiming the A-League Premiers Plate in a stunning first season.
However, despite dominating the competition, their fairytale run ended in heartbreak when they narrowly missed a place in the Grand Final.
Now, FOREVER AUCKLAND FC SEASON 2 follows the club’s quest to prove their historic success was no fluke.
No longer the competition’s newest team, Auckland FC enter their second season as a target for every rival club. With heightened expectations, increased scrutiny and unfinished business driving the squad forward, every decision, every result and every setback carries greater significance.
Featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes access, the series takes viewers into the dressing room, onto the sidelines and beyond the stadium gates. Cameras follow players and staff through both their professional and personal lives, revealing the sacrifices, pressures and triumphs that come with competing at the highest level.
The series also explores the passionate supporter base that has rapidly grown around the club. What began as a brand-new football franchise has evolved into something much bigger, becoming a rallying point for thousands of fans and helping forge a new sporting identity for Auckland.
Auckland FC CEO Nick Becker says the second season of the documentary gives fans an unparalleled look at what it takes to compete at the highest level.
“The response to the first season of Forever Auckland FC showed just how invested our fans are in this club and the people behind it,” says Becker.
“This series captures another incredible chapter in our journey, with all the highs, lows, challenges and triumphs that came with our 2025/26 season. What makes this club special is the connection between the team and our supporters, and we’re excited to share those moments with fans and give them an authentic look at what happens behind the scenes, both on and off the pitch.”
“As we prepare for the 2026/27 season, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come and celebrate the people who have helped make Auckland FC what it is today.”
While FOREVER AUCKLAND FC SEASON 2 chronicles the club’s dramatic 2025/26 campaign, its premiere comes as anticipation builds for Auckland FC’s next chapter, with the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season kicking off on 17 October when Auckland FC will take on Melbourne City FC at Go Media Stadium in Auckland with a 5.00pm kick-off.
More than a football story, the series examines what happens after a dream beginning. Building success is one challenge. Staying there is another.
