It’s all access, all action and all drama when Sky New Zealand Originals series Forever Auckland FC kicks off this August

This story might take place around the football field, but the view is like nothing you’ve seen on NZ TV before

Sky will deliver Aotearoa unprecedented access to the headline-grabbing, history-making football phenomenon, Auckland FC, when its highly anticipated Sky New Zealand Originals docuseries Forever Auckland FC premieres on Sky Open on Wednesday, 27 August at 7.30pm, with all episodes available to view on Sky Go, Neon and Sky Sport Now from this date.

Executive produced by NHNZ Worldwide’s Dame Julie Christie, the eight-part series tells the incredible story of the once-in-a-generation birth of a new professional football team and their epic first season competing in Australia’s elite A League.

Forever Auckland FC goes inside Auckland FC players’ professional and private lives, capturing the very real highs and lows of the team’s inaugural season. It features interviews with insiders such as club investors Anna Mowbray and Ali Williams, CEO Nick Becker, coaches Steve Corica and Danny Hay, the club’s loyal fans, and of course the players themselves. From the dressing room and the dugout to the team bus and the boardroom, nothing is off-limits in this revealing and entertaining insight into the sporting franchise.

The series also explores The Port, a community that has sprung up around this new club, fast becoming a magnet for a growing army of passionate football fans from all walks of life. Keen to connect with each other – and with the city that unites them – they’re starting from scratch, forging a new culture for their fan club that reflects who they are.

Forever Auckland FC airs weekly on Sky Open from Wednesday, 27 August at 7.30pm, with all episodes available to view on Sky Go, Neon and Sky Sport Now from this date.
