With the sun set for a welcomed return and the long weekend well under way, Auckland FC’s Family Fan Zone is going to be the place to be this Saturday when the team take on the Central Coast Mariners.
Living up to the promise of being Auckland’s best day out, a huge stadium-wide scavenger hunt will be taking place from 3.30pm onwards, with four exclusive on-pitch experiences to meet the players up for grabs.
The infamous beach also returns. More than 100 tonnes of sand are landing in the family fan zone to create a golden stretch of beach over 40 metres long!
But wait there’s more! The first 1000 people to arrive at the Family Fan Zone will score a fresh pair of Auckland FC sunnies, ideal for basking in all that sunshine. On top of all of this, the usual favourites will be at the game, including the infamous slide and mini-football

SAM CELEBRATES THE 09
Keep an eye on English striker Sam Cosgrove, and not just for the goals he scores.
The player will be swapping his usual number 9 for ‘09’ to mark Auckland Anniversary Weekend. The club obtained special permission from the A-League to change his shirt number and will auctioning off the shirt for charity after the game.
SCAVENGER HUNT
The scavenger hunt runs from gates open at 3:30pm through to match kick-off at 5:00pm and includes six tasks that must be completed to win a prize. Take a photo each time you complete a task as proof of completion, as these photos will be required when redeeming your prize. Limited to children under 16.
TASKS:
Go down the AFC inflatable slide
Get a photo with Tāma
Get a photo with an AFC mural (East Stand)
Score a goal on the beach
Build a sandcastle with the buckets and spades provided.
FINAL TASK:
Dig into the sand in the (specified area) of the beach to find a token.
There are only four tokens available; once they’re gone, this step isn’t required.
REDEEMING YOUR PRIZE:
After completing all these steps, make your way to the information desk , which is located near the merch tent by Gate A, with your token. Terms and conditions apply.
