Kicking off the new season in style, The Warehouse has teamed up with Auckland FC to become the team’s official retail partner, signing a multi-year partnership with the club.
The national retailer is looking forward to strengthening its connection with Kiwi families and fans of the global game.
“We’re going to make it easier for families to be part of the club, with ticket giveaways and merch drops, promos, and footy-themed fun in our stores, that’ll bring the game closer to home,” says Jo Mitchell, GM Marketing, The Warehouse.
“This is about backing the club, the fans, and helping more Kiwi whānau feel part of the game.”
The red shed started life in Auckland before growing into a national retail giant. Today, both brands are fixtures of Kiwi culture.
“I grew up going to The Warehouse in the 80s, they’re part of the fabric of Auckland and, like us, are big champions of the city and Aotearoa New Zealand,” says Nick Becker, Auckland FC CEO.
“Football is booming on our shores right now. It’s the number one participation sport for Kiwi kids and second for adults. With The Warehouse being the home of affordable sportswear and equipment, the partnership between the two brands makes a lot of sense.”
Although the partnership has a strong Auckland focus, it will be activated in stores nationwide – so customers won’t need to be at the stadium to feel part of the club.
The partnership also includes the ambition to get affordable supporters merchandise on shelves at The Warehouse.
