Felipe Gallegos

I started my professional journey at Universidad de Chile, where I was promoted to the first team in 2009. I made my debut during a friendly match against Argentinos Juniors, and my first official match was against O’Higgins. It was an exciting time for me, and I remember assisting Diego Rivarola for my first goal in a 5–1 victory over Everton de Viña del Mar.

Playing in Germany and Spain was a great opportunity for me. Each league has its style, which helped me adapt my game. The level of competition was intense, and it pushed me to improve technically and tactically. Those experiences taught me a lot about professionalism and the importance of adapting to different environments.

I’ve always wanted to experience different cultures and styles of play. Joining Necaxa was about continuing my growth as a player in a competitive league like Liga MX. Moving to OFI in Greece was another adventure; I became part of a club with a rich history, and it was exciting to be one of the few Chileans to represent them.

It was an honour to be called up for the national team. Unfortunately, the match against Peru was cancelled due to social movements in Chile, but the call-up itself was a proud moment for me. Representing my country has always been a dream, and I hope to achieve that again in the future.

The A-League presents a unique challenge, and I saw it as a fantastic opportunity to grow in a new environment. Auckland FC is a club with ambition, and I wanted to be part of its journey. The vision they have for the future resonates with me, and I’m excited to contribute to that vision.

Adapting to life in New Zealand has been a positive experience. The people are friendly, and the culture is welcoming. There’s a great sense of community, and I appreciate the natural beauty of the country. I’m excited to immerse myself in the culture while contributing to the club.

I’m grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received from so many fans. The support is crucial for us, and together we can achieve great things this season.
