Steve Corica
Steve Corica began his football career with Marconi Stallions in Australia in 1990. Here, he helped Marconi win a grand final and he was also named U-21 Player of the Year. Corica moved to England to play for Leicester in 1995, scoring on debut in a 2-1 win against Sunderland. A year later, Corica signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers whom he made over 100 appearances for.
Corica had strong stints at Japan’s Sanfreece Hiroshima and England’s Walsall, before returning to Australia to play for Sydney FC in 2005. Corica scored the winning goal for Sydney FC in 2005’s A-League Grand Final, crowning his side the first ever winners of the competition. Corica remained as a player at Sydney until 2010, recording over 100 appearances and 23 goals.
Corica’s managerial career began at Sydney FC in 2010 with the youth team. He became an assistant coach a year later. Corica became head coach of Sydney FC in 2018, winning the A-League Grand Final in his first season. Corica remained head coach for 6 more years, before joining Auckland in 2024.
At his first season with Auckland FC, Corica won the Premiership, and was named A-League Coach of the Year at the 2025 Dolan Warren Awards and PFA Coach of Year, voted by coaches and players within the A-League.
