Women’s Development Centre

Our Philosophy

The Auckland FC Youth Development Club Partnership expanded in 2025 to include a dedicated pathway for talented women, strengthening our connection with football communities across the Northland, Auckland, and WAIBOP regions.

Launching in September, the Women’s Talent Development Centre will work closely with local partner clubs to identify and nurture women’s talent. The programme features weekly training sessions, development matches, and workshops designed to support both personal and professional growth.

HOW It Works:

Through weekly training sessions and monthly Development Games held at North Harbour Stadium, selected players gain access to Auckland FC’s high-performance training environment. Delivered in partnership with New Zealand Football as a recognised Centre of Excellence, the programme supports the holistic development of players both on and off the field.

The Centre initially focused on players born between 2008 and 2010, aligning with the international calendar to prepare players for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The programme has since expanded to include players born 2006 – 2010, providing a development platform aimed at future participation in both the 2026 FIFA U-17 and FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups.

Women’s Talent Development Centre

Starting early next month (September), the Women’s Talent Development Centre (WTDC) will work with local partner clubs to develop and nurture future talent. It will offer weekly training sessions, development matches, and workshops focused on both personal and professional growth.

A predominantly women coaching and support staff will lead the programme, with a strong emphasis on fostering leadership and expertise among women in football.

Youth Development Club Partnership

Auckland FC partners with Talent Development Programme Clubs within NRF and WAIBOP, establishing them as an official Youth Development Club Partnership and paving the way for even greater collaboration in the development of youth football.

Beyond the Talent Development Centre, Auckland FC will roll out a series of women’s football initiatives, including a new women’s football festival and an ambassador programme to celebrate and promote the women’s game in the community.
