Logan Rogerson Called Up to All Whites

Auckland FC forward Logan Rogerson has been called up to be part of the All Whites FIFA World Cup squad.

Rogerson, 28, got the call to replace Peterborough United’s Matthew Garbett, who picked up an unfortunate injury during training.

Rogerson becomes the sixth Auckland FC player to make the team, the others being Francis de Vries, Nando Pijnaker, Callan Elliot, Jesse Randall and Michael Woud.

“This is great news for Logan,” says Auckland FC CEO Nick Becker.

“Making the squad has been an aim of his since he joined the club, and he was unfortunate to miss out originally. Now he is there, I can guarantee he will give his all for the team, and everyone at the club wishes him and his teammates the very best.”

Rogerson was keen to express his concern and condolences to Garbett.

“Matty’s a good mate of mine and I am really gutted for him,” says Rogerson.

“It’s a weird feeling to be honest, slightly conflicted as I am also buzzing to get out there and meet up with the team.”

The All Whites start their World Cup campaign today (June 16) against Iran. Logan is expected to miss the game and will instead join the team in the coming days.
